What the Fall Semester Looks Like at Phoenix Seminary

Fall is fast approaching and there are many questions about what the semester will look like here at Phoenix Seminary.  Our plan is to be flexible and nimble, as we humbly acknowledge that we cannot know what the fall will bring.  To accommodate the variety of situations we may face, we are deploying three modalities for each course.

  • First, we will offer on-ground courses this fall.  Students who are able and comfortable with on-campus instruction will be able to do courses with appropriate social-distancing and masks.
  • Second, each course will be live-streamed. Students who are medically compromised, who are uncomfortable with a return to on-campus courses, or who need to self-quarantine for a period, can watch lectures live.
  • Third, each course will be recorded.  Should it become necessary, a student will be able to catch up by watching the recorded lectures.

By using all three modes of engagement from the beginning of the semester we will be able to allow individual students to move deftly as they navigate life this fall.  Institutionally, this gives us maximum flexibility in these uncertain times.
