Theological Library Cooperative of Arizona

Through an initiative of Grand-Canyon University, four theological school representatives began discussing the concept of an Arizona consortium of theological libraries in the fall of 2000. The vision came to be, with the desire to access grant monies as well as share the benefits of increased buying power, professional experience, and varied library collection resources. In 2002, after a few meetings, our membership grew to 10 libraries, but later one institution dropped out. During the development of our Interlibrary Use Agreement, we decided to create an organization which was non-binding legally, so we called ourselves a cooperative. Students, faculty, and staff from other TLCA member institutions have the privilege to freely use cooperative members’ materials, as they agree to abide by individual library policies.
