FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:
Phoenix Seminary Announces Dr. Brian Arnold as Next President
July 31, 2019

The Phoenix Seminary board of trustees voted unanimously on Monday, July 29, 2019, to appoint Dr. Brian Arnold to serve as the next president of Phoenix Seminary, in Phoenix, AZ.

Dr. Arnold will follow 30 years of foundational leadership and service from Founding President, now Phoenix Seminary Chancellor, Dr. Darryl DelHousaye.

“My work has been more foundational, establishing a school that would be solid theologically,” said Dr. DelHousaye. “But I realize now it’s time for God to bring in a new quarterback. This is a great man of integrity. He means what he says, and he does what he promises. I have absolute confidence that he’s going to be used by God to do great things for this school.”

Dr. Brian Arnold is a graduate of The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, KY. He worked as an Emergency Medical Services technician before being called into ministry. After graduating from seminary, Dr. Arnold pastored Smithland First Baptist Church in Smithland, KY. He moved to Arizona in 2015 to serve as Assistant Professor of Theology at Phoenix Seminary, then later as Academic Dean.

“At Phoenix Seminary we are producing men and women who will be serving the local church,” said Dr. Arnold. “I want them to do that with the best education they can get, and hearts aflame with the gospel. I see seminaries as one of the most strategic opportunities in the Kingdom of God.”

Arnold has been married to his wife, Lauren, for 12 years. They have two children: Jameson (8) and Natalie (6).

The selection and announcement followed a nationwide search process led by executive search firm CarterBaldwin Executive Search of Atlanta, Ga. The search committee was comprised of trustees, alumni, students, faculty, staff, and external relations.

“I am pleased that the Board enthusiastically and unanimously supported the recommendation of the search committee after months of much prayer and hard work,” said Chairman of the Board Dr. Gary Damore.

Phoenix Seminary President-elect Arnold will assume office effective August 5, 2019.
