Phoenix Seminary Library & Seminary History
Through a gathering of many local area pastors and church leaders, our institution began in 1988 to prevent what President DelHousaye called "leakage" from happening--a problem of Arizona young men and women heading off to distant theological seminaries to get their degrees, and never coming back to Arizona. So we began as Western Seminary, Phoenix--a satellite campus of Western Seminary. In 1994 we shed our relationship with the school and became a brand new independent seminary. Without a library, accreditation would be difficult to receive, so the current Executive Vice Present invited a retired Air Force officer to investigate how to get this done. See how the story unfolded in the links below. The Library History is almost complete through 2019. The Seminary History Part 1 (1988-2007) and Part 2 (2007 to 2016) are complete. Part 3, 2017 to 2020 is in progress.
