About

Nathan Tarr joined the faculty of Phoenix Seminary in 2022 as Associate Professor of Pastoral Theology. He teaches courses in the areas of church history, pastoral ministry, and spiritual formation. His research interests include the role of fiction in spiritual formation, the growth of global evangelicalism, and theological aesthetics. He also serves as a chaplain in the Air National Guard. Prior to moving to Phoenix, he planted and pastored churches in the Southeast for almost twenty years. Nathan, Devon, and their five children enjoy playing pickleball, discovering new favorite cultural foods, and hiking in South Mountain.
